Quagga
mussels
Quagga mussels can reproduce with tiny, microscopic larvae. Adult mussels attach to hard surfaces like kayaks, paddleboards, rocks, piers, and water intake pipes.
By attaching to any hard surface (rocks, piers, boats, water intake pipes) these mussels can cause massive damage and huge costs. Their sharp shells could also make beach walks dangerous.
Clean, Drain, and Dry. Scrub and rinse all equipment to ensure that no small mussels are attached. Drain and Dry all water from your gear to remove microscopic larvae.
